Zilker Park Boat Rentals was established in 1969, becoming Town Lake's (now Lady Bird Lake) first boat rental.  Howard Barnett and his wife Dorthy created this business just off the banks of Barton Creek.  They have over 100 canoes and kayaks for rent, some even have a spot to mount your GoPro.  They are cash only and life jackets are provided with your rental.   

The address provided is their Google Maps address.  Zilker Park Boat Rentals is actually located just off the trail.  Just enter the park through the main entrance from Barton Springs Road and then make an immediate left. You’ll be heading toward a barn-like structure. On your right is a parking lot. On the left is an open field. At the end of the field is a parking lot which is your destination. As you drive to the parking lot, look to your right and you will see a banner which says “Canoe Rental Is Open.” Study the map to the right to get your bearings. The red square is our actual location.The banner will lead you to a stairway down to our boats. 

Open 7 days a week from 9 am till dusk, weather permitting. They actually like to have all employees out of the park by dusk for safety reasons.  Call to make sure they are open if the weather is questionable.
